What is the final walkthrough when purchasing a home?

🏡 What Is the Final Walk-Through When Buying a Home?

The final walk-through is a buyer’s last opportunity to visit the property before closing. In Vermont, the contract states up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled closing time.

This isn’t another inspection. Instead, it’s a confirmation step to make sure:

✔️ The home is in the same condition as when you made your offer.

✔️ Any agreed-upon repairs have been completed.

✔️ All included appliances and fixtures are still in place.
✔️ The property has been fully vacated (unless otherwise agreed).

✔️ No new damage has occurred
Think of it as a final check to ensure everything is exactly as expected before ownership officially transfers.

If something isn’t right, it’s much easier to address it before closing than after.

Buying a home is a major milestone, and the final walk-through helps protect that investment and provide peace of mind.

Have questions about what to look for during your walk-through? Let’s talk.
