South Hero Homes

The town of South Hero occupies the southern portion of Grand Isle Island. It is the most populous town in Grand Isle County. Route 2 connects to South Hero through the sandbar and is the main entrance to South Hero for residents, visitors an travelers. Apple and dairy farms remain prominent for agriculture in South Hero. Snow Farm Vineyard is located on West Shore Road in South Hero and is a popular destination for wine tasting and in the summer months, they host Summer Concert Series outdoors, overlooking the vineyard. There is a boat launch in the southern part of the town, before reaching the sandbar.

South Hero is located about 10 minutes from the neighboring town of Milton, and about 25 minutes from the Greater Burlington area. The town is about 5-10 minutes from the Ferry that leads from the town of Grand Isle to Plattsburgh, New York.

South Hero has their own school for grades K-8, Folsom Elementary. The school not only serves student education, but it's also known as the towns community center, hosting events for the residents of the town. Students in South Hero have school choice for High School.
