North Hero Vermont
North Hero is an island in the center of Grand Isle County. The island of North Hero is considered the shire town and county seat of Grand Isle County. North Hero is home of the weekly newspaper, the Islander, where it has been published since 1974. Popular destinations in North Hero include: The North Hero House, Shore Acres Inn and Restaurant and Hero's Welcome Bakery, Cafe and Deli. The island also has the North Hero State Park and Knights Point State Park. North Hero offers lots of recreational activities for residents and visitors during the summer months including swimming, boating, kayaking and fishing.
The town of North Hero is located about 45 minutes from Burlington, 40 minutes to Saint Albans and 20 minutes to the Canadian Border.
North Hero is part of the Champlain Islands Unified Union School District, and they do have their own elementary school for grades K-6, North Hero School. Upon grades 7-8, students get school choice from the surrounding towns. Students get school choice for High School.
