The town of Underhill is located "at the foot of Mount Mansfield". Underhill consists of 2 main areas, the Underhill Flats area which is located off Route 15 corridor near Poker Hill Road and shares a jurisdiction with the neighboring town of Jericho, and Underhill Center, which is at the intersection of River Road and Pleasant Valley Road. Residents of Underhill can enjoy an active and engaged community, local markets and restaurants, and proximity to other larger towns like Essex and Burlington.

Underhill is nestled on the western side of Mountain Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak, with easy access to Mount Mansfield State Forest for a wide array of hiking options ranging from moderate to challenging levels.

Underhill is apart of the Chittenden East Supervisory Union School District, sharing Mount Mansfield High School with Richmond, Huntington and Underhill.
