Swanton is a town in the North West region of Franklin County. The town of Swanton borders Saint Albans to the South, Lake Champlain to the West and Canada to the North. Swanton has 2 separate governmental entities: the town and the village. The village of Swanton features local shops and dining, as well as a grocery store and hardware store. The Missisquoi River runs through the town.
The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge is located in West Swanton, and Killkare State Park is only 10-15 minutes South of the town. Swanton is located 10 minutes from Saint Albans City, 10 minutes from the boarder of Canada and 40 minutes from Burlington.
Swanton has their own school system, with students attending Swanton Elementary School from grades K-6, then Missisquoi Valley Union Middle and High School from grades 7-12.
