Westford is located in the north east region of Chittenden County, bordering both Lamoille and Franklin Counties. The town of Westford is sometimes referred to as the "hidden gem" of Chittenden County since it is tucked away in a rural area, but within a comfortable 30 minute commuting distance to Burlington and Saint Albans.

Westford is in a very convenient location for outdoor enthusiasts; within 30 minutes of Smugglers Notch Ski/All Season Resort, 10-15 minutes from Milton Town Forest and 25 minutes from Lake Champlain! Residents of Westford can also enjoy being within 15-20 minutes from local markets and shops in both neighboring towns of Essex and Fairfax.

Westford is part of the Essex Westford School District. The elementary school serves only Westford students, with grades K-8. Students attend Essex High School which is shared with Essex Town, Essex Village, Georgia and the Islands.
